The Skegness Academy received its first Ofsted visit in September 2011.
Inspectors spent two days in Skegness scrutinising the Academy's work and meeting with pupils and staff. The visit was to assess the progress made by the Academy since opening and the main judgement made was that OUTSTANDING PROGRESS had been made. Mr Hornsby, the then Principal, commented that 'all of the staff and pupils at the Academy are rightfully proud of their achievements.'
In October 2012, the Academy underwent a full Ofsted inspection and received an overall grading of 'good with outstanding leadership and management', Stating that, since the Academy opened, the quality of teaching and achievement has improved rapidly and continues to do so because of outstanding leadership and governance.
