Skegness Academy

Extended Opportunities

There are many clubs and out of lesson activities in the Academy which are popular amongst pupils and enjoyed by staff. These include sporting activities such as soccer, gymnastics, netball, cross country running, hockey, table tennis, basketball and cricket.

Many activities take place during the course of the year involving visits to concerts and theatres in support of English, Drama and Music and other outdoor education and overseas visits in support of History, Geography and Modern Foreign Languages.  Indeed there are residential trips planned for pupils, to France, China, Mozambique and The Aosta Valley in Italy.

The Academy has developed a very positive relationship with the Outward Bound Trust who have enabled over 800 pupils to attend a free residential course over the last year.  We also work with Fire Break at Skegness Fire Station, the Police service and Too Fast too Soon and our Year 9 pupils took part this year in the 'Prison Me No Way' event which proved extremely popular.
