Sixth Form

Sixth Form

The sixth form provision at the Skegness Academy is growing rapidly and encompasses a whole range of both academic and vocational Level 2 and Level 3 courses. The sixth form itself has more than doubled in size over the past academic year, with students significantly out-performing national averages in year thirteen.

The Skegness Academy has been judged by Ofsted to have made outstanding progress and the sixth form is included in this. Excellent teachers deliver high quality lessons to ensure you not only reach your potential, but have the opportunity to go beyond expectations. There is a comprehensive range of support available and our new Director of Careers is available to give you the right individual advice to help you choose the correct path in our sixth form and beyond. The specialist sixth form team keeps a careful track of your progression and are able to support you as and when needed in a very proactive manner. The personal touch offered is second to none, as your future matters to us.

We have three dedicated Learning Mentors within the Sixth Form at the Skegness Academy who each have a different area of specialism including Literacy, Numeracy, BTEC and Academic. They each have a select number of students they are responsible for within their own specialism. Students use them as the first point of call for anything relating to their studies. The mentors support with SSS and also take a lead in delivering the Enrichment sessions.

We welcome applications from students across the region and there is an application form included on this page. The Sixth Form prospectus gives you full and detailed information about our facilities, courses and opportunities beyond your chosen studies. You will have the chance to meet with staff and discuss the courses at the Sixth Form Open Evening later this year. There will also be an opportunity to try out the courses and find out what is involved at our taster days that run from March until July.

We look forward to working with you.
