Excellence

We set high standards in all areas of school life. We work hard and try our best in each lesson, each day and each term to be the very best version of ourselves.

Respect

We speak and behave towards ourselves and other members of our community in a kind, pleasant and polite manner.

Personal Responsibility

We make good decisions about what we say and do and are accountable for our choices.

Gratitude

We notice and appreciate other people’s actions, the opportunities we are offered and the world in which we live.

Music

At the Skegness Academy, our Music curriculum is designed to ignite creativity, build confidence, and inspire a lifelong love of music. Following the National Curriculum, students in key stage three develop their performance, composition, and critical listening skills through a diverse range of musical styles and traditions. Our lessons are vibrant and inclusive, encouraging every child to find their voice, express themselves, and collaborate with others. In key stage four students are offered the opportunity to study the BTEC Tech Award in Music Practice, further enhancing our commitment to developing their musicality whilst also extending the offer to consider vocational employment within the industry.

We believe that music is a powerful tool for putting every student on the path to a happy, successful, and fulfilling life. Through making, exploring, and enjoying music, our students not only enhance their cultural understanding and technical skills but also strengthen vital qualities such as resilience, teamwork, and self-expression. At Skegness Academy, we expect – and see – every student taking joy and pride in their musical journey.
