Courses Available in Sixth Form
There are three different types of course offered:
- A-level courses
- Vocational courses
- GCSE resit courses (English and Mathematics only)
Students who have not been successful at meeting the entry requirements for level 3 courses can enquire about repeating the level 2 pathway.
New Vocational courses for 2026
We have new and exciting courses for 2026 and will mean you only study this course as an option across two years.
These courses are equivalent to three A-Level and includes a mix of theoretical and practical learning. Extended Diploma courses are a good choice for students who want to specialise in a particular area and learn through a hands-on approach. They can lead to university or direct employment.

A-Level Course
- A-Level English Literature
- A-Level History
- A Level Sociology
Students in Year 12 will study three qualifications equivalent to 3 A-Levels As part of the wider curriculum, students will have a variety of activities which is called the Super Curriculum. These are timetabled sessions and support the next stage in their educational journey, career development, fitness, cooking and RSE/PSHE.
Skegness Academy also reserves the right to withdraw a course if there are insufficient numbers of students wishing to take it up and/or due to availability of teaching staff.
